After waiting weeks for show—left disappointed

* I expected better acoustics in this venue. Joe’s voice was drowned over by instruments. * performance was rote and actually boring at times * back up group was nondescript * keyboard artist was superb * couldn’t recognize songs that I listen to on my playlist * I have seen stellar performances on PBS which prompted me to buy a ticket and this show was by comparison way under performed * don’t think that Boise, Idaho was considered a worthy venue particularly as Joe noted his venues in major world cities and then Boise - where the hell is Boise * Joe did so much free styling on several songs that the melody and true musicality was lost * lots of people loved him but he didn’t meet any of my expectations from seeing TV and listening to my downloads * very little engagement with his band as he played and no audience engagement until after a number of songs

Do it for the Gram

Anyone who has followed JB knows you may not find anyone better that also pays homage to all the greats he ever listened to, and is fantastic doing it, I will say at times I couldn't understand the lyric's we sat close to the stage so we could see him play, but for the best sound we might have to be mid center, all that said the drummer that night was unbelievable WOW, he and the bass were in lock step, I'm not sure if the mixer board was side stage or in the usual spot, that makes a huge difference as to the quality of the sound in that room. Please don't stay away 10 years, Keep the Blues alive!!! do it for the Gram.
